What does Chefolio cost?
Subscriptions start at US$9.99 a month for 250 credits. One-time credit packs start at US$4.99 for 100 credits.
How many credits do I need to generate an image?
Generating an image uses 5 credits at 1080p, 7 at 2K or 10 at 4K. There are no extra generation fees.
Do unused monthly credits roll over?
Yes. Unused monthly credits carry over to the next month and never expire.
Account & Trial Credits
Can I try Chefolio before paying?
Yes. Each account starts with 50 trial credits. Sign up or sign in with Google or Apple to use them. You don't need to enter credit card details.
Can I use the same Apple account on the website and in the app?
Yes. Sign in with the same Apple account on the website and in the app, and you'll access the same Chefolio account.
Are trial credits shared between the website and app?
Yes. The website and app use the same balance of 50 trial credits when you sign in to the same account.
Will I get trial credits again if I sign up with the same email?
Currently, yes. If you delete your account and sign up again with the same email, you'll receive trial credits again.
Do trial credits expire?
No. Trial credits never expire.
Using Chefolio
Does Chefolio create a complete restaurant menu?
No. Chefolio edits dish photos and lets you add text and prices to the finished image if you want. It doesn't create a complete restaurant menu layout.
Do I need to write prompts?
No. Upload your photo and choose a built-in visual style.
Will Chefolio change how my food looks?
Chefolio is designed to keep your dish's ingredients, portion, color, texture and garnish while changing the scene around it. AI results can vary, so check each image against the dish you serve before publishing.
How do I get started?
Click "Create Your Food Photo" to open the web app, or download the app from the App Store. Sign up or sign in with Google or Apple, upload a dish photo and choose a style. You can view the result as soon as generation finishes, even when you use trial credits.
Uploads & Resolution
What image files can I upload?
The web app accepts JPG, PNG, WEBP, HEIC and HEIF. You can upload up to 20 photos, with a limit of 6 MB per photo.
Can I create images in 4K?
Yes. You can generate 1080p, 2K or 4K images on any plan, as long as you have enough credits for the resolution you choose.
Commercial Use & Photo Storage
Can I use the images commercially?
Yes. You can use images you create with Chefolio commercially, such as on menus, delivery listings and social media.
How are my uploaded photos handled?
We keep your original uploaded photos on our servers so you can use them to generate more images later.
Are my images deleted when I delete my account?
No. Deleting your account doesn't currently remove the images stored on our servers.
